Craig Beeson is an expert in both preparing, assessing and defending complex and high valued variations, claims and disputes. He is the Partner for the Contract Solutions division of EC Harris/ARCADIS in Qatar, providing impartial expert claims-related advice to internal and external clients across the project lifecycle through the procurement, contract management and close-out phases. He manages a Qatar based team of 25 multi-qualified experts in claims-related disciplines and holds a number of high-profile commissions in dispute resolution and mitigation.

Craig is a consummate professional with 15 years’ experience working on major international infrastructure projects including railways, highways, ports and airports, as well as smaller scale commercial and residential building projects within commercial disciplines. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). He holds 4 degrees in economics, surveying, construction law and arbitration, and business administration.

Craig’s international experience covers projects throughout the jurisdictions of the United Kingdom, the United States, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, the UAE, the Sultanate of Oman, Egypt, India, Tanzania, Uganda, the Seychelles, Denmark and Romania for both public and private clients, as well as contractors and consultants. He has experience in all major standard forms of agreement including the FIDIC rainbow suite, the JCT suite and the NEC suite, as well as a variety of bespoke client forms of contract throughout different jurisdictions.

Craig’s expertise incorporates all major commercial disciplines such as contract administration, change management, claims preparation and defence, cost control, cost reporting, project management, legal advice and defence, professional indemnity insurance claims, risk management, procurement and dispute resolution. His LLM dissertation concentrated on the international resolution of concurrent delay claims and how best to standardise the remedy to reduce costs for both claimant and defendant.

Craig prides himself on his ability to create successful working relationships through effectively listening, sourcing and consolidating the right information from the individuals that are best placed to provide professional feedback. He is able to quickly extract the important essence of any complex or technical issue in order to discover and define the most reasonable resolution to any given dispute. He respects the importance that parties place on commercial disputes within the construction industry, no matter the value, and treats every case with the detailed attention and impartial assessment that it deserves.
